Welcome to the Totally Wired Blog

I used to hear about people with multiple blogs and thought, "How do they find the time to do it?" It takes me a few hours just to update Ypulse everyday. Well, I have now joined the ranks of bloggers with multiple blogs. Welcomed to Totally Wired. It's the name of my book, which is the inspiration for this site, and will be in bookstores March 20. I plan to use this blog to write about how technology is changing the lives of today's teens and tweens, and as a result is presenting new challenges for parents, teachers or any adult who works with this population. I'll also keep you up to date about any book events, virtual book tours, how to order in bulk for large groups ( parents, teachers, librarians, ministers, etc.), and any press coverage.

The links on the right side are meant to be a resource and to give you an idea of the sites teens where teens are both hanging out and creating their own media. If you see a glaring ommission or have a great resource to share, just email me.

I want this blog to be very interactive. If you're a parent, post your questions -- no matter how silly you think they are -- and I'll try to answer them. If you're a teen, let adults know what you think about the technology you use every day. Email me your stories about how technology is affecting your life in both positive and negative ways. Share your stories of discovery (a new cool site, gadget or resource), heartbreak (cyberbullying or other online drama) empowerment (your blog/vlog/podcast, your son or daughter's online zine, your class's blog or interactive project), and activism (a web site, SMS campaign or other digital effort that made a difference). I want to hear it all. This blog is an extension of the book, and I think blogging makes it more of a living, breathing entity.

So jump in, spread the word, and of course, buy the book. You can read a short excerpt from the book here.

Anastasia,

You should also have one of those RSS subscribe widgets to make it easier for your loyal YPulse readers to subscribe!

Duh! Thanks Chris -- we'll get those links up soon. I probably announced it was fully ready a bit too early. Thanks for reminding me to do this though.
